Because there are no guidelines in the Teacher's Notes for leading weekly literature discussions with LG or UG children, I'm wondering when and, more importantly, how to discuss the questionable elements like the positive portrayal of the Egyptian gods in A Place in the Sunin Weeks 1 and 2. I read a previous thread dealing with concerns about that particular book. I know my son could handle it, and it would be a good discussion starter, but if I don't have time to read it ahead of him, how can I have a knowledgable conversation with him. Do you read all the Grammar-level books so you can lead discussions with your children? I guess I was sort of expecting TOG to help me out with that a little in the Teacher's Notes beyond just having the answers to the SAPs.
For issues like this, especially A Place in the Sunthat had been in threads, I read aloud with my dd. That way we were able to discuss topics as they came up. I also read all of her literature readings ahead or just behind her to catch any topics that came up. I usually just read the selections in the AM before we start school. It usually just takes about 10-15 min to stay with her.

I'm like djlmom. My time is valueable. I don't want to proof read each book and video I hand my children. I thought TOG did that for me. This was the main reason why I bought TOG.
Isn't there any book and movie reviews with Biblicle discussions we can have for the Grammer children? Maybe, djlmom, we'll just have to hook up and do this ourselves
