I ordered what I thought was all my books for YR3 U3. But when I looked at each individual week of my Unit 3 Reading Assignment I realized that I don't have some of the books that are on there and they weren't offered on the Bookshelf. I thought that the bookshelf had all the books for each level and each unit or if they didn't then they would note that didn't carry it. How can find out what books the Bookshelf doesn't carry that are in the Reading assignment without having to go week by week and see if all the books are in the bookshelf?

Bookshelf Central does carry all of the books on the Primary Reading List of the yellow pages in your plan. The only exception I have encountered is when a book goes out of print. If you order before a replacement is located and stocked for sale, you could end up with a gap.

I expect the problem you encountered is with books that are multi-unit books. These books do not show up in the list by Year Plan and Unit, because they would duplicate on so many lists and people sometimes bought them more than once. The second drop-down is the one that confuses everyone. Just do one search with "All" selected under units and then a second search with "multi-unit" selected. If you do this for each learning level, you should be able to see all of the books needed for that level.

This following note is posted on the main page of the site to warn users about the need to search for Multi-unit books.

"Start your search for books for Tapestry by choosing your Year-Plan and proceeding to Unit (don’t forget to search for Multi-Unit!) then Level, then Subject. Multi-year books and Read-Alouds (which encompass more than one level) will automatically populate into your search results, so make sure you don’t double-purchase!"

If this doesn't match up with your missing books, I would contact them directly to see if they can help you sort it out. Their customer service is outstanding and I'm sure they would like to help you secure everything you need for the year.

I think it is easier to make a list of the books I need, then search book by book. I noticed when I searched by level that some of the books were not showing up.
