Help! I cannot get to the bookshelf website. The link is throwing me to a "choose my domain" website. Is it just me or is something else going on? I'm not sure what else to do if the link isn't working. Any help is appreciated.

What a relief! I'm so glad to "hear" this. I just posted a question about your site under another topic - website trouble - I think.

I feel much better now. I was starting to panic a little. I'm cool now.

Thanks for the update! Of course, it'll take me days to psyche myself up again to buy my books. I was set to search sofa cushions and old purses for all manner of hidden treasure. A project for another day. . .

I just posted this to the LooseThreads yahoogroup, and you can feel free to post it wherever you feel it will be helpful to others...


As you are probably aware, Bookshelf Central has just gone to a brand new website with several new features and a whole new look. We’ve been working on this a long time and are really excited about how much easier your buying experience will be!

However, some of you have been caught off guard and have a few questions and concerns. (We were also caught off guard as our web designer didn’t give us warning about going live, unfortunately.) So, here are a few pointers for you as you explore.

*If you’ve tried to place an order today and your credit card was rejected, please try again. We found the bug and corrected that problem.

*If you had an account or a planning list on the old Bookshelf Central (since we have owned it, or when Lampstand owned it), it is no longer in existence. Many of you signed up for an account or planning list when Lampstand owned the Bookshelf. By law, the new Bookshelf Central cannot just take over the mailing list and account information without your expressed permission. And, it would take us untold hours to go through emails granting permission and sorting through the information to transfer it. Unfortunately, since the old website used old outdated software, there wasn’t the option of a quick and easy “click here to transfer information.” Thus, your planning lists and accounts didn’t transfer.

*The good news is that the new website has a nice way to create a similar list. You’ll need to create an account by going to “log in.” As you go through the search process, you can add anything you’d like to your basket. By doing so, a nice chart will come up that you can print and use just like you did the planning list. Or, you can continue to view it online because everything will stay in your cart indefinitely until you either remove each item, or purchase them. You’ve got to create your account first though, so take a few minutes to do that, even if you aren’t ordering right away.

*So, how do you search? Begin by choosing your Year-Plan on the drop-down menu (or left side menu). Then, go to “unit,” and choose “multi-unit” first. Multi-year books are, by default, also multi-unit, so they will automatically populate in your search. Then choose your level and subject. Click “add selected products to cart” (you can delete items later if needed). Now go back and do the same thing over again, but change your unit, level, and subject as needed. Continue to add them all to your cart so that you can see your running total for your budget planning purposes. Please note that we are aware of your need to put more than one unit, level, and subject, and have asked our web designed to add these features.

*Lastly, please be aware that Tapestry is reviving the resource lists, so, if you like the ability to organize information in a spreadsheet, be watching for this feature. (It’s one great bonus to DE instead of only a print version!)

It's up, it was up yesterday.

Just so you know, I just tried to get to the Bookshelf via the link in the Loom and the Lampstand Press web page. Those links directed me to the domain name page. So, that needs to be updated.
