FYI - We just went to Gettysburg PA last week and were able to go through the new visitor center (just opened). There is an amazing museum with hands on activities, many large screen movies telling the story of the Civil War,the Battle of Gettysburg, as well as slave stories, numerous displays of every kind, human interest stories, etc - I could go on an on. It would be an excellent field trip for anyone close enough to drive there doing Year 3. The Museum is in the Visitors Center and is FREE. There is also a film there that costs $ but you don't have to do that - the Museum takes several hours to go through and is very thorough. We really enjoyed it.
