We are on week 1, just started today in fact. I see that for the UG under Arts/Activities it has them doing a page from the America: Ready to Use....book.

Can someone tell me how this ties in with what they're learning? I'm a little confused about that.

Section 5 in the America book is on the Mississippi Valley. Throughout the first part of Unit 1, your child will focus on this region of the country. In geography, students will add Kentucky and Tennessee to their maps of the US in week one. The activities assigned in week 1 help to set the stage for the next few weeks in history.

UG Students who studied Y2 last year, covered Sections 1-3 in this same book. As we continue to study the growth of our nation in Y3 (Lewis and Clark, the Oregon Trail, the Alamo etc.)students will most likely focus on the remaining sections of this book.

Does that help you fit it into the big picture? We have really enjoyed this book over the past year. The recipes are very good too!
