Not sure if this is the right place for this, move if necessary. Smiler

I was just wondering if anyone had previously taken 2 yrs to do any one year of TOG.
We have gotten 'behind' in our rotation ... I decided to go with Y3 this year (even though we've done year 3 with another program already) then I figured we could take two years to do Y4. That would put my eldest starting over with Y1 in 9th grade, giving him a full rotation in high school.

But now I'm just wondering if it' really possible to stretch it over 2 yrs. I mean...*really*. Would we tire of it? Is there enough information? Seems like there would be enough going on in that 'year' that we could take 2 yrs in it. I just think that could give him that good grounding in that time frame that he needs, as we have not covered 'Y4' at all up to this point.

That just seems to make more sense than continuing straight through from here...Y1 in 8th grade then again in 12th. Or does it really matter?

Oy, I'm confusing myself.

In short...thoughts on taking two years to cover Y4 ?

Hi Tara,
This is totally off the cuff since I haven't done year 4 at all yet, but I think you could stretch it out ,especially in jr high and especially with boys - there are lots and lots of good supplemental materials out there for WW 2. You could go on some interesting rabbit trails, especially if your guys like cars or movies or anything else that came to life in the 20th century. Alternatively, you could spend that extra time doing an in-depth study of geography. Enjoy the luxury of choice here!
Blessings,
April
