We've been homeschooling almost 20 years, but are just finishing our first TOG year. We've had our best ever year studying ancient history! Next year we'll be moving on to Y2, and I'm considering covering only the first half of the curriculum in order to allow plenty of time for Medieval-Renaissance studies, which I love. This would also allow enough time for my high schoolers to obtain credit in fine arts, which I doubt we would have time if we cover the whole year. Without seeing the print Y2 which I'm eagerly looking forward getting my hands on, I can not be sure if this is a good idea. Will there be enough to do, and to give my high schoolers a full history credit? (We'll be going more in depth than if we covered the entire 4 units as written.)Does this sound crazy? I do have a plan for the following years, picking up the pace to as written.
THANKS!
Anne

I think it depends on you. I could do a whole unit on Shakespeare and related history, but not everyone or every child would want to do this.

My family and I are in the middle of this! We loved the Middle Ages so much that we took almost a whole year to do it. There's plenty of material; especially if you're like me and like to "do it all!"

It was the right thing to do for us, as God added a few "life complications" that would have been more stressful had I been trying to cram in the full year plan. Smiler

Pray about it! If it's what God is leading you to, then it's the right thing to do.
