My dd is just coming home from being in ps high school one year (she still will take two classes there) and I want to do all four years of TOG in three years for her world history/american history/government credits. Any thoughts or tips on how to best accomplish this?

TOG as written cannot be done in three years. But, it can be amended. Before I went through all the work of amending though, I would look carefully at the exact number and type of credits, and kinds of material you want to cover.

TOG covers all of world history, literature, geography, church history, etc. thoroughly. All families are different, but we homeschoolers all have our "favorite" eras of history where we've spent more time in the earlier years than others. For instance, many families have done and done Colonial America; others the Civil War era, still others, Ancient World or Medieval Europe. If you can think about areas that your dd might not need to revisit in depth, and list them here, we could talk more specifically about units that might be omitted.

Strictly speaking, most students do not need to cover all that we offer in high school. They can get by with less material and still earn appropriate credits. But, we also need to consider what the purpose for the next three years for your daughter is. For instance, how important is worldview training, and apologetics? How about literary analysis, or an elective in Church History? Has your girl ever surveyed the Bible, and is that a goal for these years?

You would also probably need to think about using summers for study if you are serious about trying to do most of TOG in three years.
