Our Medieval Feast is coming up this Friday and I was wondering if anyone here had attempted to make a "Blackbird Pie"? How did you do it? Do you have a recipe? I bought some peeps, but I don't think I can bake them the entire time it takes a pie to bake. I think the marshmallow would melt away. Maybe I need to use something else altogether?

Any help is very appreciated!
Thanks!

Okay, I did not read the instruction, but I'm pretty sure what you want to do is bake the crusts separately, allow them to cool and then put the peeps in, and put them together.

To bake the top crust, I'd use an empty pie pan, and fill it will balled up foil and put a foil liner around the rim of the pie plan. Then I'd bake it and carefully move it to the already baked bottom filled with peeps. You might also bake the top on an upside down pie pan. Either way, transferring is the big bear. Also, make sure you put in lots of supporting peeps.
