Hi,
We're currently using TOG Y1 Classic w/ Writing Aids. We are on Week 24 and I have decided to have my daughter do an Interview. I gave her the Writing Aids book to read about "Interview Reports" and she mentioned to me that it is written to the teacher NOT the student. My question is this: Do moms of multiple students give this book to the student to read on their own OR do they actually teach each lesson to each level? (I'm referring to D and R level students...) Thanks! Amy |

Hi Amy,
Yes, the book is written to the teacher; you'll want to print up the appropriate "talking points" from the disc for the correct student information. The students should read it on their own, and if it's a new concept, you should review it with them before they begin writing. Here's how I do it: Monday: student reads Talking Points Tuesday: mom reviews if necessary to make sure student understands Wednesday: prewriting Thursday: rough draft Friday: final copy Blessings, Dana C. in TN "Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!" Deut. 32:2-4 |

WOW, Dana!!
Thanks!! I didn't realize ALL that was on the Writing Aids disk...I just assumed it was the grading rubrics and writing organizers. I guess I should have looked a little harder before asking... I just popped the disk in the computer and almost fell out of my chair. ~Amy (homeschooling K,J, & EJ for the Lord) |
