Hi,
I have an older edition of Music: An Appreciation and have just been trying to get my ducks in a row, looking over the first few weeks of the redesigned I just got in the mail.
For that first week's assignment, can anyone tell me what the actual listening outlines are in the book? My page numbers are off from what is given in the reading chart. I just needed to know what should be listened to for that week (by title).

The assignment is the following:

*Chapter 1, section entitled "Listening Outlines, Vocal Music Guides, and the Properties of Sound."

*Chapter 2, "Music in the Middle Ages," "Gregorian Chant," "The Church Modes," "Alleluia: Vidimus Stellam," "O successores."

Your response was VERY helpful, Dana - just what I needed, too. I can see this is going to be an ongoing issue for me, also. I was so excited to obtain a used copy of this book, since a new one was so expensive, but the page numbers in the reading assignment charts are totally different from what's in my book. Is there any way someone could post a similar list of the subjects for each week's assignments for the whole unit (and each unit thereafter)? TIA!
