I am planning to start using Tapestry next year. My 3 children then will be almost 11 (5th grade), almost 9(3rd grade) and 5 1/2(K). I am thinking ahead and wanting to take them at least twice through the 4 year cycle. That is why I decided to start when my oldest will be in 5th grade (officially), so she can have 8 years ahead of her.
My question is about my middle child. If he starts with her, then he will end up sort of "in the middle" of the cycle, which means right after Renaissance (if I start a 3rd cycle with him and the youngest one). Should I just wait with him until he will be ready fro the rhetoric and then start again( which would give him 2 year gap in between) or just proceed forword?
But then if I have a gap with him, my youngest one will be ready to jump in the middle of all of this...
I would appreciate any advice from other's experiences.

What we did was just start with my oldest and that will leave her ending with yr4 in her senior year(going through it almost twice). My second oldest will be a senior during yr. 1 and my youngest will end with year 3. Really it was not something we stressed about it, it is the fact that they will get the rotation twice. I would line it up with the first and consider it icing for the 2nd and 3rd. Does any of this make sense?

I would go ahead and start with all of them in Year 1. Don't worry about one of them not finishing with Year 4. It totally won't matter. I started when my oldest was in 12th grade. We needed to start with Year 4 because that was what she needed to graduate. My next dd didn't do anymore TOG after that because she met all of her history requirements for graduation and chose to take other things instead.

Last year I used Year 1 with a 9th grader, 7th grader, 1st grader and a K'er. Only the 9th grader and the 1st grader will finish with Year 4, and that's only if they do TOG with me in their senior year. They may choose/need to do other things at that time.

TOG was written to be started or ended on ANY of the Yearplans. Go ahead and start with Year 1 and include all the kids! Don't worry about where anyone will end up, because you never know what will happen between now and then anyway!! Oh, and WELCOME to TOG!!
